Calis (pronounced Chalis) is a laid back and friendly resort whilst at the same time one of the most popular tourist centres of the area. Laidback, uncomplicated and tranquil, Calis is simply perfect for peaceful relaxation. Ideal for families or…couples. This small beach resort is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet place for a long break or holiday.

This lovely quiet resort is most famous for its amazing sunsets and cooling breezes along the beach, a long stretch of 4 kilometres of sand and shingle, perfect for soaking up the sun on the beach, strolling along the boulevard or relaxing with a drink and watching the world go by.

Sunbeds can be hired and swimming is generally safe.

Calis offers a good choice of beach fronted bars, cafes, restaurants along the newly pedestrianised promenade. It has a small selection of shops with jewelry, clothes, local handicrafts,beachwear and water-sport equipment. There are many well-stocked mini-markets selling everything you need during your stay - fresh fruit, spices, groceries, spirits/wine, turkish delights.

Though the nightlife can be low key, there are a number of discos. Larger hotels offer seasonal evening entertainments with live music and belly-dancing. A more active nightlife can be found in nearby Fethiye town.

You can take a water taxi, winding its way through the canal and opening out into Fethiye bay for Fethiye town or hop on the local ‘Dolmus’ – minibus.

For the more adventurous, water sports are available including kite surfing and there is an aqua park with slides and a fitness centre, horse riding, fishing and shark fishing.

A traditional Sunday market offers a vast array of products, imitation designer clothing, watches, carpets as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. An opportunity to try your haggling skills!

Alternatively, go paragliding or take a Jeep or Quad Bike Safari. For those with relaxation in mind there are Turkish Baths and massage available.

You can take a boat from Calis to nearby secluded bays for swimming or take a fishing trip-including shark fishing! (Lunch Provided). Larger boats from Olu Deniz provide day trips touring the surrounding islands (Lunch Provided). sunset boat trips are also available.

Olu Deniz is famed for its blue lagoon and the whole of the coastline is spectacular.
